Culbertson Headed to USA National Championships

MISSION VIEJO, Calif. (SMU) - SMU diver Matt Culbertson qualified for the USA Diving National Championships after a strong performance in the USA Diving Zone D qualifying meet over the weekend. Culbertson placed second in both the one-meter dive (332.15 pts) and the three-meter dive (359.80 pts). He missed out on first place in the three-meter event by less than two points.
Culbertson, a senior from Andrews, Texas, represented the Mustangs at the NCAA Championships earlier this year. He also took home the Conference-USA title in both the one- and three- meter dives, and placed second in the platform dive.
The USA Diving National Championships will take place Aug. 10-15 in College Station.
