Froelander Takes Fourth At European Championships

BUDAPEST, Hungary (SMU) - Former SMU swimmer Lars Froelander took fourth in the 100m butterfly at the European Championships Saturday. The Swede posted a time of 52.24, missing the medal stand by just 0.08 seconds. Froelander helped lead the Swedish team to a bronze medal in the 4x100m freestyle relay.
Freestyler Mindaugas Sadauskas competed in the 50m freestyle, 100m freestyle and in the 4x100m freestyle relay for Lithuania. Last season for the Mustangs, Sadauskas won the 100 yard freestyle, and finished second in the 50 yard freestyle and the 100 yard backstroke at the Conference USA Championships.
SMU newcomer Giedrius Andriunaitis swam alongside fellow countryman and Mustang Sadauskas in the 50m freestyle and 100m freestyle. He was also a part of the 4x100m freestyle relay for Lithuania. Andriunaitis swam club for Kaunas Swimming School and participated in the Europe Youth Championship (Praha) in 2009.
Former Mustang Grega Plevlj represented Slovenia in the 50m breaststroke and the 100m breaststroke.
