BISHOP, Ga. (SMU) --- The SMU equestrian team fell to Georgia, 11-1, in the Hunterseat Competition at the Bulldogs' facility on Sunday afternoon.
In the first event, the defending national champion Bulldogs swept SMU on the flat, 6-0. Taylor McClung led the Mustangs with a score of 66 and Claire Wenholz earned a 65 for the Red-and-Blue.
Junior Jordyn Pettersen, who earned MVP honors in yesterday's competition against Kansas State, won her matchup with the score of a 75 in equitation over fences. In the event, Emily Gardner led the Mustangs' efforts with a score of 81 and Marissa Djernes and Ramsay Hanson followed with scores of 79 and 78, respectively.
SMU returns home to host Auburn University on Nov. 7 in the Mustangs first home show of the season.
