AUSTIN, Texas (SMU) - The SMU men's swim team fell to both No. 4 Texas and No. 6 Arizona in simultaneous dual meets this weekend. Senior captain Tom Cole and sophomore Mindaugas Sadauskas once again turned in strong performances for the Mustangs.
Cole won the 200-yard breaststroke, clocking in with a time of 1:58.14. He then took third in the 100-yard breaststroke, touching the wall in 55.37.
Sadauskas earned top honors in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 20.12. The freestyle specialist then came in third in the 100-yard freestyle (44.32). Sadauskas also swam the third leg of the 400-yard freestyle relay squad that finished second (2:59.06).
In the 200-yard butterfly, junior Blaz Korosec picked up another win for the Mustangs, recording a time of 1:50.04.
Distance swimmer Mitchell Thomson claimed second in the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 15:23.45.
SMU has nearly one month off before competing in the Conference USA Championship in Houston Feb. 23-26.
