DALLAS (SMU) - SMU's Aldrick Robinson has been selected by the Washington Redskins in the 2011 NFL Draft. The wide receiver was selected with the 13th pick of the sixth round, the 178th selection overall.
Robinson is coming off a season which saw him catch a school-record 14 TDs and notch 1,301 receiving yards, second-most ever in a season at SMU. The Waxahachie, Texas, native, also finished the 2010 season with touchdown grabs in a school-record eight straight games.
Robinson is the third Mustang to be drafted in last three years, joining current New Orleans Saint punter Thomas Morstead (2009) and current Pittsburgh Steeler wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders (2010).
