Three Mustang Swimmers Earn 1A FAR Academic Excellence Award

INDIANAPOLIS (SMU) - Former SMU diver Audra Egenolf, and swimmers Ana Lara Carrillo and Tim Raschle were named recipients of one of the NCAA's newest awards, the 1A FAR Academic Excellence Award. The award was established by the 1A Faculty Athletics Representatives to recognize student-athlete academic achievement.
Recipients must have graduated in the past academic year with at least a 3.80 cumulative grade-point average and have participated in at least two years of intercollegiate athletics at a Football Bowl Subdivision institution in a sport sponsored by a Football Bowl Subdivision conference.
SMU women's swimming opens the season on Oct. 15 at Conference USA rival Rice at 12:30 p.m. The men start Oct.28-29 at the Southwest Collegiate Invite in Mansfield, Texas.
