COLLEGE STATION, Texas (SMU) - The SMU women's swimming and diving team suffered its first dual meet loss of the season on Thursday at No. 10 Texas A&M. The Mustangs are now 3-1 in dual meets this year.
Sophomore standout Nina Rangelova won the 200-yard freestyle, touching the wall in 1:48.47. Rangelova placed second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:01.23.
Freshman Isabella Arcila also earned a top finish, winning the 50-yard freestyle in 23.54. Arcila also swam the final leg of the second-place 200-yard medley relay team (1:42.18).
Seniors Therese Svendsen and Denisa Smolenova earned runner-up finishes in the 200-yard backstroke (1:58.63) and 100-yard butterfly (55.86), respectively.
SMU's next dual meet is at Houston on Jan. 21 at noon.
