WACO, Texas (SMU) - Junior Hristina Dishkova and senior Holly Verner advanced to the quarterfinals of the doubles draw at the ITA Texas Regional in Waco, Texas, on Friday afternoon.

In the round of 32, Dishkova and Verner topped Texas State's Shannon Beckett and Eva Dench; 8-5.  The SMU duo then upset second-seeded Breaunna Addison and Pippa Horn of Texas, 8-6, to advance to the quarterfinals.  They will face Brittany Reed and Erin Walker of Abilene Christian tomorrow.

In singles action, Dishkova, junior Vaszilisza Bulgakova and sophomore Dasha Sharapova all had their runs end in the round of 32.  Dishkova dropped a decision to 65th-ranked Maria Ines Deheza of Texas A&M; 7-5, 6-2.  Bulgakova was ousted by another Aggie, 99th-ranked Anna Mamalat; 6-3, 6-1.  Sharapova was defeated by Sam Houston State's Fabienne Gettwart; 6-2, 6-4.

In consolations, junior Yana Erkeeva lost by default in her singles match, while sophomores Anna Kate Anderson and Macie Elliott advanced to the next round of consolation doubles by default.

Play will continue tomorrow with Dishkova and Verner hitting the courts at 9 a.m.
