HOUSTON (SMU) - The SMU women's tennis team wrapped up play at the Houston Invitational on Sunday. Sophomore Anna Kate Anderson finished the weekend undefeated in singles, while junior Vaszilisza Bulgakova and sophomore Dasha Sharapova posted a perfect record in doubles.

The Mustangs were paired up with Syracuse for the final day of action.

In singles, Anderson dominated Nicole Mitchell in straight sets; 6-1, 6-2. Junior Hristina Dishkova, Bulgakova and sophomore Macie Elliott also tallied wins in singles for SMU. Dishkova topped Amanda Rodgers; 7-6, 6-2. Bulgakova earned a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Rhiann Newborn. Elliott defeated Olivia Messino; 7-6, 7-5.

Sharapova and Wright also competed in singles for SMU. Sharapova lost a close match to Valeria Salazar; 7-5, 6-4. Wright dropped a 6-2, 6-4 decision to Komal Safdar.

In doubles, Bulgakova and Sharapova moved to 3-0 on the weekend with an 8-6 victory over Salazar and Newborn. Junior Yana Erkeeva and Wright dropped their doubles match, 8-4, to Nafdar and Rodgers, while Anderson and Elliott were edged by Messino and Mitchell, 8-6.

The Mustangs return to the court next weekend, as SMU hosts the Blue & Red Challenge. The three-day event begins on Friday, Nov. 7 and concludes on Sunday, Nov. 9.
