COLUMBUS, Ohio (SMU) – Bryce Klein won a silver medal at the USA Diving Winter National Championships on Sunday at Ohio State’s McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion in Columbus, Ohio. Devin Burnett also competed in the national event. Both divers competed as unattached.
Klein, along with teammate Bradley Christensen, won the silver medal in the synchronized three-meter. Klein and Christensen posted a score of 787.56, which was 26.61 points behind the gold medal duo.
“Bryce struggled on the one-meter, but came back with excellent performances in the three-meter and three-meter synchronized events,” said head diving coach Jim Stillson. “He has gotten better with each day as he recovers from finals week.”
In the three-meter dive, Klein, a sophomore from Southlake, Texas, placed eighth. Burnett, a senior from Plano, Texas, finished 25th.
The pair also competed in the one-meter dive. Klein finished 21st and Burnett came in 27th.
“I am extremely proud of how Devin competed,” said Stillson.
The diving team will have a brief hiatus, before returning to action in early January.
