PALO ALTO, Calif. (SMU) - Freshman Tova Magnusson recorded a time of 10:23.85 in the Steeplechase as she as the SMU indoor track and field team continued its outdoor season on day one of the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif. Magnusson's time in the event is a personal-best and ranks her third all-time at SMU.

In addition to Magnusson, the Mustangs had three competitors in the 5,000-meter run including sophomores Shanoah Souza and Melanie Stemper and freshman Agnes Sjöström. Sjöström paced the Mustangs as she recorded a personal-best time of 16:38.60 in the race which ranks her sixth all-time at SMU. Souza (16:39.75) and Stemper (16:44.86) also clocked personal-record times to rank seventh and ninth all-time at SMU, respectively.

In the 10,000-meter run, sophomore Karoline Skatteboe ran a personal-best time of 35:46.57 and now ranks third all-time at SMU in the event. Freshman Holly Archer recorded a time of 4:29.91 which ranks her eighth all-time at SMU.

SMU is splitting its team between the Stanford Invitational (April 4-5) and the Texas Tech Open (April 5) this weekend.
