Swimming And Diving Teams Named CSCAA Scholar All-America Teams

DALLAS (SMU) - Both SMU swimming and diving teams posted grade point averages above 3.0 to earn CSCAA Scholar All-America Team honors for the 2014 spring semester, the organization announced on Thursday. The women's team posted a 3.40, while the men had a 3.25.
The honor, which is supported by Nike Swim, is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams who have posted a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.
On Wednesday, seven swimmers also achieved university honors for the spring semester. Senior Natalie Schauwecker, junior Elizabeth Krane and sophomores Ursa Bezan and Nicholas Hook earned Honor Roll with High Distinction, while graduated senior Jordan Newman and sophomore Bryce Klein earned Honor Roll with Distinction accolades and sophomore Hayden Corley was named to the Honor Roll.
Women's Head Coach Steve Collins had this to say about his team's performance in the classroom, "We are very proud of the academic achievements of our team this spring. Our team GPA of 3.40 is one of the highest in our history."
