Raposa, Gray Earn United Riders Of The Month Honors

WACO, Texas (NCEA/SMU) - Schaefer Raposa and Nora Gray were named September's United Equestrian Conference's Hunt Seat Riders of the Month, announced the National Collegiate Equestrian Association on Thursday. Raposa earned the Over Fences honor, while Gray received the Equitation on the Flats honor.
Senior Raposa earned a pair of wins over fences during the month of September, garnering MOP honors over fences in each of her two competitions. Both of her individual victories came against opponents from ranked schools, No. 6 Oklahoma State and No. 8 TCU. The senior averaged a score of 86.5 over fences for the month of September with a high score of 90.
Gray made a huge splash to open her collegiate career, as the freshman posted a pair of victories against nationally-ranked Oklahoma State and TCU to earn the Equitation on the Flats honor. Gray averaged a score of 76.5 and held a 2.5-point average margin of victory against her opponents.
The Mustangs will return home and open a five-meet homestand beginning with the South Dakota State Jackrabbits, Friday, Oct. 30. The event will take place at Sleepy P. Ranch and is slated to begin at 10 a.m. CT.
