The No. 19 SMU Mustangs (6-0) host Michigan (6-2) on Tuesday at 8 p.m. on ESPN2. The Mustangs improved to 6-0 with a 98-44 win against New Hampshire on Saturday. SMU is 4-0 at home this season and is 38-3 at home since the start of the 2013-14 season.
SMU is averaging 81.8 points while shooting 52.4 percent (5th NCAA) with five Mustangs averaging more than 10 points (Nic Moore 15.0, Keith Frazier 13.2, Ben Moore 11.8, Markus Kennedy 11.5, Jordan Tolbert 10.5). The Mustangs have had at least four double-digit scorers in five of six games, including five in double figures against Yale and New Hampshire. Six Mustangs are averaging at least four rebounds, led by Tolbert at 8.0 and Ben Moore at 6.8. SMU has had five players with at least five rebounds in three straight games.
The Mustangs are No. 19 this week in the AP Top 25. SMU was 22nd last week after being tied for 25th the previous week. SMU was receiving votes in the first two polls. Last season, SMU spent nine weeks in the AP and USA Today Top 25, finishing No. 18 in the AP and receiving votes in the USA Today Coaches Poll.
SMU finished 27-7 last season, winning The American regular season and tournament championships en route to the NCAA Tournament. SMU won 27 games in each of the past two seasons and has a 60-17 mark since the start of the 2013-14 season. The Mustangs were picked to repeat as AAC champions in the league's preseason coaches' poll. Nic Moore was tabbed to repeat as AAC Player of the Year, while he and Markus Kennedy were unanimously selected to the preseason All-AAC first team. Moore was also named to the Wooden Award Preseason Top 50 for the second straight year and to the Naismith Award Watch List for the first time. Kennedy is on the Karl Malone Award Watch List. Semi Ojeleye is a nominee for the Allstate NABC Good Works Team. Nic Moore was named to the AAC Weekly Honor Roll (12/7) and Shake Milton was the AAC Rookie of the Week (11/16).

LAST GAME (W, 98-44 vs. New Hampshire on Dec. 5): DALLAS (AP) -- Keith Frazier scored 20 of his 23 points in the first half to lead No. 22 SMU to a 98-44 victory over New Hampshire on Saturday. Frazier finished 6 for 10 from behind the arc and grabbed a season-high eight rebounds. Shake Milton added 20 points for the Mustangs (6-0). Jaleen Smith led New Hampshire (5-3) with 14 points, hitting three of seven 3-point attempts, and six rebounds. SMU led 50-20 at halftime after shooting 60 percent from the field to the Wildcats' 23.3 percent. They closed the game on a 28-3 run over the final 9 minutes. SMU led 35-18 with less than 4 minutes remaining in the first half when Frazier hit his next three shots -- two 3-pointers and a long 2-pointer -- to extend the Mustangs' lead to 43-18 with 2:25 left in the half. SMU went into the game holding opponents to 40.8 percent shooting from the field. The Mustangs limited the Wildcats to 27 percent. New Hampshire had three players foul out. The Mustangs dominated in the paint 36-14.
THE SERIES VS. MICHIGAN (1-0): SMU won the first meeting with Michigan on Dec. 20, 2014 in Ann Arbor, Mich.
LAST MEETING VS. MICHIGAN (W, 62-51 at Michigan on Dec. 20, 2014): ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) -- Yanick Moreira scored 19 points and Nic Moore added 17 as SMU beat Michigan 62-51. Zak Irvin led Michigan with 17 points, while freshman Mark Donnal added 13. The Mustangs were bolstered by the return of Markus Kennedy. He finished with five points and three rebounds in 10 minutes. SMU got off to a quick start, hitting eight of its first 11 field goals and grabbing the offensive rebound on two of the misses. That led to an 18-12 lead, but the Mustangs couldn't keep up the pace. They shot 20 percent (3-of-15) in the rest of the half, allowing Michigan to pull within 30-27. Michigan went cold at the start of the second half, making just one of its first nine shots as SMU built a 10-point lead. Caris LeVert ended the drought with his first basket of the game, and when the Wolverines scored the next seven points, they were back within 39-38. Derrick Walton Jr.'s 3-pointer gave the Wolverines their first lead since 2-0, but Michigan went cold again down the stretch, missing nine of 10 shots to allow SMU to pull away.

Markus Kennedy NAMED TO KARL MALONE WATCH LIST: Markus Kennedy was one of 20 players named to the 2016 Karl Malone Award Watch List, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced on Oct. 13. The accolade recognizes the top power forward in Division I men's college basketball. In mid-February, the watch list will be narrowed to the top 10. In March, five finalists will be selected. The winner will be announced on Friday, April 8.
Nic Moore NAMED TO WOODEN AWARD PRESEASON TOP 50 & NAISMITH TROPHY WATCH LIST: Nic Moore was named to the John R. Wooden Award Preseason Top 50 on Nov. 17. It is the second straight season Moore has been on the preseason list. The accolade is for college basketball's top player. A midseason list of 25 will be selected in early January followed by the top 20 in early February. Fifteen players will be submitted to the voters in March. The Wooden Award All-American Team will be announced the week of the "Elite Eight" and the winner on April 8. He was named to the Naismith Trophy Watch List by the Atlanta Tipoff Club on Dec. 2. Named in honor of Dr. James Naismith, inventor of the game of basketball, the Naismith Trophy presented by AT&T recognizes the top Men's College Basketball Players of the Year.
Semi Ojeleye NOMINATED FOR ALLSTATE NABC GOOD WORKS TEAM: Semi Ojeleye (shem-ee o-juh-lay) is a nominee for the Allstate NABC Good Works Team, an award that highlights student-athletes who have shown dedication to community service and altruism in their communities. The junior is an advocate for the "I Have a Dream Foundation", which is a local group that focuses on creating an environment to help children develop a healthy self-confidence, a passion for learning and a sense of community for lifelong service to others by providing mentors, educational opportunities, after school programming and recreational programming. The program offers tutoring, life skills and lifelong mentoring by providing children with home and school visits to monitor academic and social progress as well as daily nutrition assistance. The junior is a psychology major and posts a 3.714 cumulative grade-point-average. A former Parade Magazine National Player of the Year, Ojeleye played in 23 games at Duke before transferring to SMU in January of 2015.
HALL OF FAME HEAD COACH Larry Brown: He was named head men's basketball coach at SMU on April 19, 2012. He is the only head coach to win both an NCAA title (Kansas 1988) and an NBA Championship (Detroit 2004). Brown was enshrined in the Basketball Hall of Fame as a coach on Sept. 27, 2002. He is in his 41st season as a head coach and 11th at the NCAA level. He has an overall record of 1723-1226 when combining his head coaching marks from the NBA, the ABA, the NCAA and USA Basketball. His collegiate record is 246-95 (69-34 at SMU) with two conference championships (1986, 2015) and three conference tournament titles (1984, 1986, 2015). His teams have been to the NCAA tournament eight times including three Final Fours (1980, 1986, 1988) and the 1988 NCAA title. At SMU, he led the Mustangs to the 2014 NIT title game before reaching the 2015 NCAA.

ASSOCIATE HEAD COACH Tim Jankovich: Tim Jankovich is in his 33rd season as a collegiate coach, and his fourth season as associate head coach at SMU where he has helped SMU to a 75-34 mark. The Mustangs have won 27 games in each of the past two seasons, going 27-7 in 2014-15 while claiming The American regular season and tournament titles en route to the NCAA Tournament. This is the 10th season he has served as the leader of a Division I program, including five as head coach at Illinois State (2007-12) and four at North Texas (1993-97). That includes a 104-64 mark at ISU where his teams recorded four top-three finishes in the Missouri Valley, reached the conference tournament final three times and earned four NIT bids. MOORE GOLDEN: In the summer of 2015, Nic Moore helped Team USA to the gold medal at the World University Games in Gwangju, South Korea (July 3-14). Bill Self (Kansas) coached the USA with a mostly Kansas roster (10 of 12 players). Moore started all eight games of the tournament, averaging 6.8 points, 2.5 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.9 steals in 27.5 minutes. In the gold-medal game against Germany, he played a tournament-high 47 minutes with 7 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 assists in a 2OT 84-77 victory. Moore had a steal and 2 FTs to give the USA an 80-77 lead with a minute left in the 2nd OT.
INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE FOR THE MUSTANGS: In addition to Nic Moore winning a gold medal with Team USA at the World University Games, seven other Mustangs earned international experience. Ben Moore, Sterling Brown, Semi Ojeleye and Ben Emelogu II played for U.S. teams in the Global Sports Academy Goodwill Tour. The tour was August 6-14 with games in Belgium, England, Germany and the Netherlands. Jay Duncan, SMU's Director of Operations, was the head coach for the roster that included Ojeleye and Emelogu. Both teams went 5-0. It was the second straight summer Moore and Brown played together on the GSA tour. Jordan Tolbert and Keith Frazier played for USA East Coast on a tour of games in France and Italy. The three-game trip included matchups with the Chinese and Nigerian national teams.

ROAD WARRIORS: The Mustangs have won 10 of its last 11 road games (2-0 in 2015-16). SMU was 9-4 on the road in 2014-15, which was the second most road wins in school history (record is 10 in 1955-56). COACHING FOR LITERACY (CoachingForLiteracy.org): Jonathan Wilfong and Andrew Renshaw, two then-high school seniors from Memphis, Tennessee, founded Coaching for Literacy in 2012. The premise a participant offers a monetary donation and, in exchange, gets to be the "Assistant Coach" during a sporting event. Proceeds raised from the event go towards funding effective literacy programs focused on helping elementary and middle school students. Coaching for Literacy partners with collegiate and professional sports teams for a unique game-day experience. --- The mission of Coaching for Literacy is to increase awareness about the number of people in America who are functionally or totally illiterate and the social problems associated with illiteracy. By leveraging the unique power of collegiate and professional sports, Coaching for Literacy raises money to supports effective local literacy programs and schools focused on educating elementary and middle school students. SMU hosted two CFL events in 2014-15 (1/31/15 vs. UCF and 2/19/15 vs. Temple). During the summer of 2015, Coach Larry Brown joined the advisory board of Coaching for Literacy.
