Burnett Qualifies For NCAAs In All Three Diving Events

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Devin Burnett placed third in the platform and earned his third bid to the NCAA Championship on Wednesday afternoon at the NCAA Zone D Diving Championship held at the University of Iowa's Campus Recreation and Wellness Center Natatorium.
Burnett finished third, his highest finish of the competition, with a cumulative two-round score of 756.80. The senior also qualified in the one-meter and three-meter springboard.
Freshman David Bunn and senior Hayden Hodges also competed Wednesday for the Mustangs. Hodges finished 12th (604.30), while Bunn placed 14th (550.00). The top seven finishers in the platform earned automatic bids to the national championship.
In swimming news, freshman Christian Scherubl was named as an alternate in the 200-yard freestyle for the NCAA Championship.
The championship takes place later this month (March 26-28) at the same pool in Iowa City.
