Spring Break Classic | The Bay Course | Kapalua, Maui | March 23 - 25, 2015
DALLAS - The SMU women's golf team heads to Kapalua, Hawai'i, for the Ānuenue Spring Break Classic at the Bay Course in Maui. The 54-hole tournament begins on Monday and concludes Wednesday.
SMU is one of 16 teams in the field which includes Oregon, Louisville and Texas. Jenny Haglund, Alexandra Rossi, Jennifer Park, Evelyn Dole and Lindsey McCurdy will compete for the Mustangs. Alex Celli will play as an individual.
Notes
▪ The 2015 Spring Break Classic will be played at the par-72 Bay Course (6,022 yards) in Maui.
▪ 2015 marks the fourth year of the Spring Break Classic. It has only been held at the Bay Course.
▪ Pepperdine won the 2014 tournament with a 870. UCLA (854) won in 2013. Colorado (889) won the first year of the event in 2012.
▪ Pepperdine's Grace Na won the tournament in back-to-back years. In 2013 she shot 206 for the title and followed with a 205 for the repeat in 2014. Daniela Holmqvist (Cal) won the first year of the event with a 214.
▪ The format is 5-count-4 with each round starting with a 7:45 a.m. HST/12:45 p.m. CT shotgun.

The American Golfer of the Week: Jenny Haglund
PROVIDENCE - Jenny Haglund was named The American Golfer of the Week, the league office announced on March 19. Haglund earned her fourth top-10 finish of the season at the Clover Cup in Mesa, Arizona, at the Longbow Golf Club, placing eighth.
For the event, Haglund had the fifth-most birdies (8), seventh-most pars (33) and fifth-best record on par 5's (-1).
SMU In The Rankings
SMU enters the Spring Break Classic as No. 46 in the Golfstat Relative Rankings (March 20).
Including the Ponies, seven teams in the field are ranked in the top 50. The highest ranked team in the field is No. 27 Oregon, followed by No. 32 UC Davis, No. 39 Louisville, No. 42 San Jose State, No. 47 Gonzaga and No. 50 Texas.

Clover Cup (March 13-15) MESA, Ariz. - The SMU Mustangs placed sixth at the Clover Cup at the Longbow Golf Club, closing the final round with a team score of 305.
Jenny Haglund tied for eighth individually, recording her fourth top-10 finish this season. Haglund recorded a 4-over 76 on Sunday, including four straight birdies over holes 15-18. Fellow junior Alexandra Rossi took a 15th-place finish after also shooting 4-over on Sunday. Rossi's result is her third top-15 finish in 2014-15.
Also carding a 4-over round was sophomore Evelyn Dole. Both sophomore Lindsey McCurdy and senior Jennifer Park had final round scores of 77.
SMU's Lineup
SMU is sending Jenny Haglund, Alexandra Rossi, Jennifer Park, Lindsey McCurdy and Evelyn Dole to the Spring Break Classic. This is the same group that competed at the Clover Cup.
Alex Celli will also play for SMU, as an individual.
Folds Of Honor Military Tribute Program
The SMU women's golf team, in association with the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) and the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA), are participating in the Folds of HonorMilitary Tribute Program by recognizing SMU student and U.S. Army veteran Sergeant Jason Owens in the spring semester.
The Mustangs will carry a special golf bag with Sgt. Owens' named stitched on the side for the rest of the semester. SMU will rotate who will carry the bag for each event. At the end of the season, the bag will be auctioned off with proceeds going towards the Folds of Honor organization.
Folds of Honor is a charitable organization which provides educational scholarships and other assistance for the children and spouses of military servicemen and women. The program has awarded nearly 5,500 educational scholarships.

Head Coach | Jeanne Sutherland
Head Coach Jeanne Sutherland enters her fourth season on the Hilltop in 2014-15. Under Sutherland's instruction, the Mustangs have qualified for the NCAA Regionals each of the last two years. In the programs inaugural season in the American Athletic Conference, Sutherland coached the individual winner (Jenny Haglund) while coaching the team to a third place-finish.
The Dallas Athletic - Home of the Mustangs
The renowned Dallas Athletic Club is home to both the SMU men's and women's golf teams. Home of 36 holes of championship golf, the DAC challenges both teams' skills on a regular basis, giving the Mustangs two of the premier golf programs in the nation. The Jack Nicklaus designed Blue Course offers natural waterways, rolling hills and a splendid variety of trees. The course stretches over 7,000 yards and plays to a par 72, with 419 Bermuda fairways and Bentgrass greens. Natural features, including eight lakes and many mature trees, are combined with modern design techniques to provide golfers with a variety of scenes and interesting golf shots on every hole. Gold Course popular attractions include the stone bridge on Nos. 10 and 11.
