Nine Mustangs Named To NCEA All-Academic

DALLAS (SMU/NCEA) -- The SMU equestrian team had five members named to the National Collegiate Equestrian Association Academic First or Second Team, announced the organization on Wednesday. Additionally, two were named to the honorable mention and nine riders made the honor roll.
A rider must have competed in 20 percent of the team's meets and must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 for first team honors. For second team, a rider must have competed in 60 percent of competitions while maintaining a 3.25. Honorable mention is 50 percent of the meets and a 3.0 GPA. The NCEA Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes with a cumulative 3.25 GPA.
The 2015 NCEA Championship is April 16-18 at the Extraco Events Center in Waco. The Mustangs are the eighth-seed and take on No. 9 Kansas State in the opening round.
