Mustangs End Regular Season With Longhorn Invitational

DALLAS -- The SMU women's track and field team wraps up its regular season on Saturday with the Longhorn Invitational at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas. This is the final meet for the Mustangs before the American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championship May 14-17 in Mansfield, Connecticut.
The invitational is the third outdoor meet Texas has hosted this year and features 17 schools, including four teams ranked in the USTFCCCA Top 25. Host No. 7 Texas is the highest-ranked school, while No. 7 Texas, No. 18 Florida State and No. 23 Oklahoma are also ranked. Team scores will be calculated for the meet.
Saturday's meet marks the second time this outdoor season the Mustangs have competed in Austin. Sprinters ran in the Texas Relays March 27-28.
Competition begins at noon with the hammer throw. Field events run throughout the afternoon and end at 6:30 p.m. with the shot put. Running events begin at 4 p.m. with the 4x100 relay. The 4x400 relay is the last scheduled event of the day with an 8:30 p.m. start time.
Gates open at 10:30 a.m. and admission is free for all fans.

Who: SMU will send a full squad to Austin. In addition to the Mustangs and Longhorns, student-athletes from Akron, Baylor, Florida State, Houston, Incarnate Word, Loyola University New Orleans, North Texas, Oklahoma, San Jose State, Stanford, Stephen F. Austin, UTSA, Texas State, Tulane and Tulsa will all compete.
