Klein Competes In USA Diving Championship Trials

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- SMU diver Bryce Klein competed in the USA Diving World Championship Individual Trials this past weekend at the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center in Bloomington, Indiana.
Klein competed in the 3-meter competition and advanced to the finals, where he finished 12th overall.
The Southlake native posted a score of 301.55 in the preliminary round to advance to the semifinals. In the semis, Klein scored 332.45, bringing his two-round score to 633.90 and qualifying him for the finals. In the finals, Klein posted a score of 369.30, brining his three-round total to 1003.20. With that score, Klein finished 12th overall. Michael Hixon (1352.30) won the event and Darian Schmidt (1304.45) finished second.
The top two divers in the 3-meter advanced to the World Championships.
Earlier in May, Klein competed as a member of the USA Diving team in the FINA World Series in London. Klein, along with teammate Bradley Christensen of Stanford, finished sixth in the 3-meter synchronized event.
