Mustangs Compete At USA Diving and USA Swimming Nationals

DALLAS (SMU) - Mustang swimmers and divers recently completed events at USA Swimming Nationals in San Antonio and USA Diving Nationals in Orlando, Florida. Former Mustang Tyler Rauth had a standout performance in the 100-meter butterfly, posting a U.S. Olympic Trial qualifying time.
The Downington, Pennsylvania, native clocked in at 54.28, under the 54.79 qualifying time for a trip to Omaha, Nebraska, June 26-July 3 2016. Rauth also competed in the 200-meter distance, placing 48th.
Rising senior Sam Straughan and junior transfer Jonathan Gomez both made the trip to San Antonio as well, with Straughan competing in the 100 back and 100 fly, and Gomez in the 200 fly and 400 IM. Straughan's highest placement came in the 100 back prelims at 66th, while Gomez was 23rd in the 200 fly.
At USA Diving Nationals, Bryce Klein competed in both the one- and three-meter dives. In one meter prelims, Klein posted a 277.10 for 19th, while he was 23rd in three meter at 294.50.
