DALLAS (SMU) – The Mustangs will play five straight home games, including a matchup against No. 8 Arizona State, to start the 2015-16 women’s basketball schedule. SMU will also play games on the road against No. 18 Mississippi State, and a Texas A&M team that received votes in the final coaches poll of last season.
SMU opens the season in Moody Coliseum on Nov. 15 against Northwestern State, and hosts TCU and Arizona State before welcoming Cal State-Fullerton, Kansas and Northern Illinois to Dallas for the bi-annual Thanksgiving Classic.
The Mustangs then play five of the next six games on the road, starting at North Texas on Dec. 1. A Dec. 7 meeting at Texas A&M precedes a trip to Puerto Rico, with games against Arizona, Gardner Webb and Mississippi State Dec. 19-21. SMU faces New Mexico in Moody Coliseum on Dec. 5 in the final home game before the start of conference play.
SMU returns five players who started at least 15 games last season, including Alicia Froling, who led the team with 11.5 points per game and was named to the American Athletic Conference All-Freshman team.
