WACO, Texas (SMU) – Sophomore
Liza Buss picked up a close victory Friday to advance to the round of 32 at the ITA Regional Championships.
The Togliatti, Russia, native dropped the first set against Tamuna Kutubidze of North Texas, but regrouped to win the final two frames. Buss registered a 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 victory over Kutubidze and will now face Baylor's Blair Shankle.
The tournament will continue Saturday at 9 a.m. CT at Hurd Tennis Center.
