DALLAS (SMU) – Senior
Lindsey McCurdy is in sole possession of second place after posting a 1-over 73 in round one of the Trinity Forest Invitational Presented By Vic Salvino on Monday. As a team, the Mustangs are sixth with a first-round 21-over 309 at the event, which will be shortened to 36 holes from 54.
In a high-scoring event, Michigan leads the 14-team field at 16-over 304, Texas A&M is second at 17-over and Baylor and Ohio State round out the top three, tied at 18-over. Bianca Fabrizio of Texas A&M leads the field at 1-under 71.
McCurdy opened the day with a birdie on hole 1 and one of the rounds' six eagles on No. 2, before closing out the front nine at 1-under. The senior stayed under par until 14, where she shot one of two bogeys on the back nine to close out the day 2-over.
Freshman
Kenzie Wright is tied for 20th at 5-over 77 and finished the day with a pair of birdies, while sophomore
Brigitte Dunne is one stroke behind at +6 and tied for 30th.
Rounding out the scoring for the Mustangs was freshman
Ana Paula Ramirez who ended the day 9-over and tied for 46th.
Senior
Alex Celli is also competing for the Mustangs and is tied for 52nd, while classmate
Katie Page is competing as an individual and sits 73rd.

DALLAS (SMU) -- After overnight rain, Trinity Forest was deemed unplayable forcing the cancelation of today's second, and final round, of the Trinity Forest Invitational Presented By Vic Salvino.
Michigan finished atop the leaderboard in what turned into an 18-hole event, while Texas A&M's Bianca Fabrizio shot 1-under 71 for medalist honors.

SMU returns to action in 2017 when it heads to the UCF Challenge Feb. 5-7. Five tournaments highlight the spring schedule before the American Athletic Conference Championships April 16-18, and postseason play is slated to begin May 8 pending qualification.
