DALLAS (SMU) -- The SMU women's tennis team won their seventh straight match to start the season with a 6-1 win over the University of Nevada Wolfpack at Turpin Stadium.

No. 1 doubles pair of Vaszilisza Bulgakova and Hristina Dishkova earned a bounce back 6-1 victory after dropping their doubles match against Oklahoma yesterday. The No. 3 pair of Macie Elliott and Mary Wright won their third straight doubles match 6-2 to clinch the doubles point for SMU.

The Mustangs won the first three singles matches of the day with No. 6 Ana Perez-Lopez winning a quick match 6-3, 6-1, Wright (No. 5) wasn't far behind winning 6-4, 6-1 then the match was clinched by Yana Erkeeva from the No. 4 spot with her 6-1, 6-2 win. Erkeeva's win comes the day after she dropped a tough three-set match against Oklahoma.

"I came into today's match know that every day is a new day," Erkeeva said. "Sometimes losing can help fix the problems I have and help me move forward."

Junior Dasha Sharapova remained undefeated in duals play with a 1-6, 6-2, 6-3 win in singles and went unfinished at the No. 2 doubles position with Perez-Lopez. Sharapova now boasts a 6-0 singles record playing from the No. 3 and No. 4 positions and 5-0 doubles record winning four matches with Perez-Lopez and one with Erkeeva.

"Everyone is where we need to be right now and moving forward," Sharapova said. "We have TCU coming up, which is a big match for us going into a tough part of our schedule."

SMU will get a week off before getting back to action in their first road match of the season at TCU on Feb. 25. They will then play UConn at home on Feb. 28 before hitting the road for five straight away matches in Kansas and Florida.
