MEMPHIS, Tenn. (SMU) - The SMU women's tennis team dropped its American Athletic Conference semi-final match to the USF Bulls 4-0 at the Dunavant-Wellford Tennis Center. This ends the season for Mustangs as they finish with a 14-10 record and with their semi-final finish in the conference tournament.

USF won the first point of the afternoon by winning matches on doubles courts one and three. Vera Bessonova and Olga Martinez won over Vaszilisza Bulgakova and Hristina Dishkova (No. 1) 6-4 with Nicole Dzenga and Chole Murphy defeating Macie Elliott and Ana Perez-Lopez (No. 3) 6-3.

The Bulls took the first three singles wins on matches four, five, and one as Martinez defeated Yana Erkeeva (No.4) 6-0, 6-1, Vanja Klaric topped Perez-Lopez (No. 5) 6-2, 6-3, and Jessica Chavez won over Hristina Dishkova (No. 1) 6-2, 6-4.

Bulgakova, Erkeeva, and Dishkova end their careers at SMU all with winning singles and doubles records as a Mustang. SMU will head into the offseason with Elliott, Dasha Sharapova, and Mary Wright entering their senior seasons and with freshman Perez-Lopez finishing her first collegiate season with a singles and doubles combined record of 24-24.
