"He did very well," head coach
Kevin Hudson said. "You give him an opportunity and he took it. He was excited for the chance. He trains unbelievably hard every day. He's fully committed to the team. So he deserved the opportunity and he rewarded the decision with an early goal. You know what you'll get from him all the time. He'll give you 100 percent."
American rallied after halftime, scoring all three of their goals in the second half.
The Mustangs are on the road this week, traveling to Providence on Friday and Brown Sunday. The next home game is against Santa Clara Fri. Sept. 16.
