The Mustangs have won 11 straight and 21 of their last 22 games after a 69-61 win at Connecticut on Saturday. SMU is 16-0 at home the season and has won 20 straight at Moody Coliseum, which is tied for fourth nationally in active home win streaks.. SMU won 76-53 at Tulsa on Feb. 4.

Shake Milton's turn to be SMU's hot shooter. Milton scored 18 of his game-high 20 points in the first half to lead the 17th-ranked Mustangs to a 69-61 victory over UConn. The Mustangs (25-4, 15-1) won their 11th straight.
Semi Ojeleye had 16 points,
Ben Moore added 15 and
Sterling Brown had 11 as four of the seven players finished in double figures. The Mustangs rode the hot shooting of Milton, who made 6 of 7 from 3-point range, to lead 41-30 at halftime. SMU led by as many as 16 points, with Milton's fifth 3-pointer giving it a 31-15 lead with 8:04 to play. The Huskies (14-14, 9-7) were led by Kentan Facey's 15 points. Freshman Christian Vital and Vance Jackson each added 14, while Rodney Purvis had 11. In addition to trailing by double digits before halftime, the Huskies also lost point guard Jalen Adams to a sprained left ankle with just under 3 minutes left in the half. Without Adams, UConn pulled within five, 57-52, with 9:20 to play on Purvis' 3-pointer. Purvis had a rough night shooting at 4 of 18, but he hit two 3-pointers and Vital added two more as the Huskies mounted a comeback. Jankovich called a timeout to settle his team down, and it worked. SMU responded with a 9-2 run to lead 66-54 with 4:30 left. The Mustangs shot 45.1 percent (23 for 51) from the field, including 13 for 26 in the first half. UConn hit 39.7 percent overall (23 for 58).
UP NEXT: SMU hosts Memphis in the regular-season finale and senior day on Saturday (3pm, ESPN2). SMU then heads to The American Championship at the XL Center in Hartford, Connecticut (March 9-12). The Mustangs have clinched a bye, so the first game will be a quarterfinal matchup on Friday, March 10.
THE SERIES VS. TULSA (18-31): SMU is facing Tulsa for the 50th time, with Tulsa holding a 31-18 lead in the series. The Mustangs have won four of the last five meetings against the Golden Hurricane after a 76-53 victory in Tulsa on Feb. 4. Last season, the teams split two games with SMU winning the first, 81-69 at Tulsa on Dec. 29, 2015, before falling 82-77 in Moody Coliseum on Feb. 10, 2016. In 2014-15, the teams met in the 2014-15 regular season finale when the Mustangs clinched the American Athletic Conference Championship with a 67-62 win over the Golden Hurricane in Moody Coliseum on March 8, 2015. The teams were members of the WAC from 1996 to 2005 and then Conference USA from 2005 through 2013. The series between the two schools dates back to 1919-20.

Ben Moore collected 10 rebounds for SMU (20-4, 10-1 American), which shot 49 percent from the field to pick up its sixth straight win. Brown was 9 of 15 from the field and his 24 second-half points were the most by a Mustang since 2011.
Jarrey Foster's dunk with 6:31 left before intermission made it 20-19 and put SMU on top for good as the Mustangs continued to pull away while holding Tulsa scoreless over the final seven minutes of the first half. Earlier in the opening half, Tulsa (12-10, 6-4) took its only lead of the game during a 12-2 run that made it 19-16. Junior Etou led Tulsa with 18 points and Sterling Taplin had 12.
THE SERIES VS. MEMPHIS (9-12+): SMU and Memphis are meeting for the 22nd time. Memphis leads the series 12-9. SMU has won five straight matchups, including a 58-54 win at Memphis on Dec. 27, 2016 to open conference play. The Mustangs are 6-1+ against Memphis since both teams joined The American. Semi Ojeleye scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and SMU held off Memphis 58-54 in The American opener for both teams. Trailing by three at halftime, Memphis rallied to a 41-40 lead on Markel Crawford's 3-pointer, trailed, then led 45-44 after K.J. Lawson made two free throws.
Shake Milton's 3-pointer put SMU up 49-45 with 6:03 left, then
Sterling Brown hit a 3 for a 54-48 SMU lead. Memphis closed to 54-52 on Jeremiah Martin's two free throws and a layup, but Brown iced it with two free throws for the Mustangs. Brown scored 14 points with six assists and Milton added 10 for SMU (11-3), which held a 44-25 rebounding advantage but scored only four second-chance points off 15 offensive boards. Martin scored 16 points and Dedric Lawson added 14 for Memphis (9-4).
HEAD COACH TIM JANKOVICH... is in his first season at the helm at SMU after four seasons as the associate head coach. He is in his 34th season as a collegiate coach, and his 12th as a head coach. In 2015-16, the Mustangs finished 25-5, finishing the season ranked No. 24 after reaching a high of No. 8. SMU was the last unbeaten team in the country, starting 18-0, winning the Las Vegas Classic title during the season-opening streak. In 2014-15, the Mustangs claimed the American Athletic Conference regular season and tournament championships en route to the NCAA Tournament. SMU was the top seed in the 2014 NIT, reaching the title game. This is his 10th season as the leader of a Division I program, including five as head coach at Illinois State (2007-12) and four at North Texas (1993-97). The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. The junior holds a 3.65 GPA in psychology, while ranking among the top in the American Athletic Conference in points, rebounds, field goal percentage and three point percentage.
AWARDS - JERRY WEST SHOOTING GUARD OF THE YEAR WATCH LIST: Sophomore
Shake Milton was one of 20 candidates named to the 2017 Jerry West Shooting Guard of the Year Award watch list, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced Oct. 18. The annual honor recognizes the top shooting guards in Division I men's college basketball. As a freshman, Milton was a unanimous AAC All-Rookie selection after ranking third in the league for 3-point percentage (42.6, 52-122), 13th in field goal percentage (47.7) and 28th in scoring (10.5). He also averaged 2.7 assists (13th AAC) and 3.0 rebounds with a 1.8 assist-to-turnover ratio as he helped the Mustangs to a 25-5 season. This summer, he was a shooting guard at the 2016 Nike Hoops Summit in Los Angeles and went to Croatia with a Global Sports Academy U.S. Team.

AWARDS - ALLSTATE NABC GOOD WORKS TEAM NOMINEE: Jonathan Wilfong is a nominee for the 2017 Allstate National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Good Works Team, a distinguished award that highlights student-athletes who have shown dedication to community service and altruism in their communities. The senior is a co-founder of Coaching for Literacy (coachingforliteracy.org), an organization that helps fund literacy programs focused on helping elementary and middle school students. The mission of Coaching for Literacy is to increase awareness about the number of people in America who are functionally or totally illiterate and the social problems associated with illiteracy. By partnering with sports teams from across the country for a unique game-day experience, Coaching for Literacy raises money to supports effective local literacy programs and schools focused on educating elementary and middle school students. This is the second straight season SMU has a nominee after

Ben Moore has 1154 career points (30th at SMU), and became the 39th person in program history to 1,000 points (on a dunk vs. Temple 1/4/17). CLASSROOM RECORDS: SMU's football, men's basketball and women's basketball programs had a record-setting fall semester in the classroom. The football and women's basketball teams set program-best cumulative grade-point-averages while men's basketball reached its highest cumulative GPA since 2004. It was the second-straight outstanding semester for all three programs. Football had a new program high in the spring of 2016. Spring of 2016 also saw women's basketball record its best spring since 2005 and men's basketball post its best mark since 2011. The programs combined for 35 American Athletic Conference All-Academic Honors in 2016. Football had 29 representatives while men's and women's basketball had three apiece.

RALLY: The Mustangs rallied from 15 points down at halftime (42-27) to win 80-75 versus Tulane on Feb. 15. That ties for the seventh-largest comeback in program history. It was the biggest comeback in the five seasons
Tim Jankovich has been at SMU. SMU then rallied back from 13 points down (24-11) in the first half at Houston for a 76-66 victory (tied 18th-largest comeback at SMU). The Mustangs also trailed then-No. 11/11 Cincinnati 40-31 before winning 60-51 at Moody on Feb. 12.
ROAD WARRIORS: The Mustangs are 24-11 on the road since the start of the 2014-15 season with a 29-13 mark away from Moody Coliseum (5-2 neutral site). SMU is 20-7 in AAC road games in that stretch (7-2 in 2014-15; 5-4 in 2015-16; 8-1 in 2016-17). SMU was 7-4 on the road in 2015-16 after going 9-4 on the road in 2014-15.
