KANE'OHE, O'ahu (SMU) – Senior
Lindsey McCurdy climbed four spots on the individual leaderboard in the final round of the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational on Tuesday to finish in a three-way tie for third place, carding a 4-under 212 for the event. McCurdy shot par or better each round to lead the 37th-ranked SMU women's golf team, including a pair of 70s in the opening round and Tuesday's final round. The two-day event was played at the Kane'Ohe Klipper Golf Course and hosted by Hawai'i.
It was the second top-three finish for McCurdy (70-72-70) this season, which she adds to a runner-up performance at the Mustangs' Trinity Forest Invitational in November. It is also the third time the senior has finished inside the top five. In her career, McCurdy has posted 29 rounds of par or better, with 14 coming during the 2016-17 season thus far.
Sophomore
Brigitte Dunne (70-76-74, T20th) finished inside the top 20 for the fourth time this season, totaling a 54-hole 4-over 220.
McCurdy and Dunne accounted for 20 of the Mustangs' 34 birdies, at 10 apiece.
Freshmen

Faith Summers and
Kenzie Wright represented the Mustangs as well, contributing to the team's score in at least one round each. Senior

"Lindsey played some great golf this week," head coach
Jeanne Sutherland said. "With three freshmen in our lineup we have to have some patience with the process. We have plenty of game, but we just need to improve our golf IQ."
