DALLAS (SMU) – Former SMU offensive lineman Kelvin Beachum has been nominated for the 2017 All Star Giving Award, All Sports United announced today.

Beachum, a four-year starter at left tackle for the Mustangs (2008-11), was selected in the seventh round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he spent four seasons (2012-15). He recently signed a three-year deal with the New York Jets in March after playing last season with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

On the Hilltop, Beachum was a three-time All-Conference USA selection, earning first-team honors during his final two years as a Mustang. As a senior, Beachum was selected to both the Rotary Lombardi Award and Outland Award watch lists.
