PLODIV, Bulgeria (SMU) – Savannah Moody and the USA U23 Women's Quadruple Scull team will compete for a medal Saturday at the 2017 World Rowing Under 23 Championships after winning the repechage with a time of 6:34.03 Thursday.
The U.S. team finished third in its heat race behind Germany and Romania, missing automatic qualification for the final by less than two seconds. In the repechage, the Americans defeated the Netherlands (6:35.48) by a little more than a second, as well as New Zealand, France and Poland.
Moody, a 2017 graduate and four-year letterwinner at SMU, qualified for the U.S. team and competed with student-athletes from Michigan and Stanford in the women's quad.
