SMU Wins Top Ten Face-Off Against Fresno State, 15-5

DALLAS (SMU) –
Maintaining their undefeated streak in meets this season (4-0), the No. 3 SMU Mustangs earned a decisive victory over the No. 10 Fresno State Bulldogs, 15-5 (1564.5-1489.5), on a sunny Saturday at the Dallas Equestrian Center.

    Four SMU riders were awarded Most Outstanding Player awards including Kelsie Brittan in Equitation Over Fences, Vivian Yowan in Equitation on the Flat, Holly Lansidel in Reining and Ashley Mauney, for the second meet in a row, in Horsemanship.

ENGLISH
    In Equitation Over Fences, Olivia Woodson with a score of 85 on Hamilton, Tali DeJong on Rosie with an 84, Kelsie Brittan riding Dillon for an 87, Vivian Yowan on Parker for an 86, and Nora Gray riding Lux for an 86 earned all of the points over fences, sweeping the event, 5-0.

    In Equitation on the Flat, Mary Elizabeth Cordia scoring an 86 on Rosie, Lexi Murphy with an 85 on Andrew, Vivian Yowan scoring an 88 on Punch, and Nora Gray riding Limelight for an 85, notched a key 4-1 victory for SMU.

WESTERN
    In Reining, Aubrey Alderman on Stewie scoring a 71.5, Jill Pfisthner with a 72 on Tinsel, Madison Steed with a 68.5 riding Cowboy, and Holly Lansidel on Mercedes scoring a 72, furthered the Mustangs' lead with a dominant 4-1 event finish.

    In Horsemanship, Mallory Vroegh with a 74.5 on Ray and Ashley Mauney riding Desi for a 74.5 earned points for SMU.

    Up next, the Mustangs will compete against metroplex rival TCU when the Horned Frogs travel to the Dallas Equestrian Center on Saturday, Nov. 10.
