DALLAS (SMU) --- The Mustangs return to Westcott for their final home series of the regular season beginning with Tulsa on Thursday at 7 p.m.

QUICK FACTS

-Thursday's matchup will mark the 34th all-time meeting between the programs with the Mustangs holding a 24-7-2 edge in the career series. The 24 wins against the Golden Hurricane are the second most against any individual opponent trailing only TCU (28). The two schools have been in the same conference for all but one year since 1996. Last season, Tulsa topped the Mustangs, 3-2, in Oklahoma. Fleet and Thornton put the Mustangs ahead 2-0, scoring early second-half tallies. The Hurricane used two goals in the final 20 minutes to tie it up before scoring the overtime game-winner 10 seconds into the extra period. Tulsa has won four of the last five meetings.

-Dating back to 2017, the Mustangs have won eight consecutive matches at Westcott Field, five short of the SMU record. The longest streak in program history happened in the inaugural season (1986) and ended in 1987 season after SMU strung together 13 consecutive wins at home. This season, SMU is 5-0-0 at home and 6-0-1 in the state of Texas.

-With her PK goal against Cincinnati, redshirt senior Vanessa Valadez set the SMU Career mark for most PK goals (7) breaking the previous mark of six set by Kim Harvey. Valadez has yet to miss a PK (7-for-7).

-In American Athletic Conference play, senior Catie Brown holds nearly every Mustang record. Brown has compiled a 13-7-2 record across four seasons. The Mustang program has won 20 games in AAC play with Brown in goal for 13 of 20. In 2018, the senior leads the AAC in save percentage.

-The Mustangs are outscoring their opponents 14-3 in the first half.  The team has scored two or more goals in the first 20 minutes of four of their 12 games. Additionally, SMU has scored 11 goals in the first quarter (22:30) of games and have conceded once (against UConn). Against FIU, SMU scored twice before the five-minute mark, the quickest to a pair of goals for the Mustang since 2016 against Tulsa.

-A pair of Mustangs are tied for the squad lead with 14 points apiece. Allie Thornton has seven goals to lead the team while Torres has five goals and four assists. Freshman Courtney Sebazco sits one point shy with 13 points (6 goals, 1 assist).

-Allie Thornton joined teammate Vanessa Valadez as active Mustangs with 20-career goals when she scored in the first half against UConn. Thornton is tied for 25th in the country with 3 game-winning goals.

-Senior Goalkeeper Catie Brown recorded an impressive streak of 355:33 minutes in net without conceding a goal, a streak that dated back to the draw against TCU and ended on a 15th minute goal from UConn. The streak included a PK save by Brown in the road contest against Northern Colorado.  Brown was named to The American Honor Roll after the Mustangs' road trip to Colorado.

-For the second time this season, Courtney Sebazco was named Rookie of the Week by the American Athletic Conference. Sebazco is just the third AAC player to be honored more than once with Rookie of the Week. The Fort Worth, Texas native had her first award-winning weekend against Rice and TCU, scoring a pair of goals. Two weeks later, Sebazco registered a multi-goal game against FIU, including one coming on a penalty kick. The freshman leads the Mustangs in shots and shots on goals. Sebazco added her fifth goal against Northern Colorado and a sixth against UConn. Her first assist of 2018 came in the win over Cincinnati.

-With the win against UConn on Sep. 23, SMU clinched a winning season at Westcott Field for the fourth consecutive season. In 24 seasons at Westcott, the Mustangs have finished .500 or better in 23 seasons, with three perfect seasons.

-Head Coach Chris Petrucelli won his 400th career game on Sunday in the 4-1 win over UConn. In his seventh season at the helm of the Mustangs, Petrucelli has 61 wins while on the Hilltop.  Only eight coaches have reached the 400-win mark in Division 1, including just six other active coaches: Anson Dorance (UNC), Jerry Smith (Santa Clara), G. Guerrieri (Texas A&M), Becky Burleigh (Florida) and Randy Waldrum (Pittsburgh).

-The Mustangs have trailed for 97 minutes through 12 games this season. Comparatively, the squad has spent 572 minutes in front. Altogether, SMU has spent 52 percent of the season in the lead, 39 percent tied and just 8 percent of the campaign trailing. Before the game against ECU on Sep 30, the Mustang had never trailed by more than one goal or been losing in the half.

-The Mustangs were picked to finish fifth in the American Athletic Conference with junior Allie Thornton being named preseason All-Conference by the league's coaches.

ABOUT TULSA –  Tulsa rolls into Westcott with a 1-1 record in conference play. The Golden Hurricane had off the last weekend after hosting a pair of games the opening week of conference play. Tulsa topped ECU, 3-1 before allowing two second half goals against Cincinnati in a 2-1 loss. The Golden Hurricane are led in points by Anna Williams with six goals and two assists. In net, Mica Mackay has started 10 of 12 games and has compiled a 4-4-1 record.  Tulsa leads the conference in cautions.
