CARROLLTON, Texas (SMU) – SMU won the Maridoe Intercollegiate at the Maridoe Golf Club in Carrollton, Texas on Monday. The Mustangs carded a six-over (286) today to tally a 21-over (861) for the 54-hole event. This is the second tournament win in three outings for the 21
st-ranked Mustangs.
"I'm very proud of this group of guys this week," said Head Coach
Jason Enloe. "We played very well on a tough golf course which should bode well for our team. It's very nice to win any tournament, but to win in our home city of Dallas is very special. We had a lot of friends, supporters, and SMU people on hand to watch our team win the championship. I'm very honored to be the Coach of these great kids as they make me look great. Their hard work and dedication is really paying off."
The Mustangs finished 14 shots ahead of No. 6 Texas A&M and 20 strokes ahead of third-place and event host North Texas. The field featured five teams in the Golf Coaches Association of America poll's top 35.

Five of the Mustangs finished in the top 17 with sophomoreÂ
Mac Meissner finished tied for 2nd, one stroke of the individual medalist. Meissner's finish is the best of his career, his previous best being a tie for 3rd. The sophomore also collected the most pars of any golfer in the field with 37.
Junior
Jackson Markham shot one-under today for 69 and a 5
th place finish, followed by freshman
Ollie Osborne at seven-over (217) tying for 6
th.

Ben Wong and sophomore
Noah Goodwin made up the rest of the SMU scorecard, tying for 11
th and 17
th. Wong registered a nine-over (219), and Goodwin finished 12-over (222).
Redshirt junior Piran Adi, tying for 41
st, competed individually and carded an 18-over (228) finish.
SMU collected the most birdies out of all the teams over the three days with 42, and Markham and Wong tied for 3
rd for most birdies throughout the tournament with 10.
The Mustangs also posted the best averages for Par 4 and Par 5.
SMU will be back on the course Oct. 15
th and 18
th for the Payne Stewart Cup Fundraiser followed by the Bush Cup vs. Army at the Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas.
