RACE RESULTS

MADISON, Wis. (SMU) – Svenja Ojstersek and Hannah Miller competed at the NCAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday bringing an end to a stellar season by the Mustang duo.

In 30-degree weather at the University of Wisconsin's Thomas Zimmer Cross Country course, Ojstersek and Miller ran the season's final race with Ojstersek finishing in 184^th and Miller finishing in 190^th. The race brought an end to a great season for Mustang cross country that included, two team race titles, seven athletes finishing first or second and having three all-conference and all-region performers.

The two Mustangs earned spots in the NCAA Championship thanks to their terrific performances at the South Central Regional meet on Nov. 9. Hannah Miller won two races on the season and finished in the top 10 in each of the first six races. Miller also set the school 4K record in the season's first race. On Saturday, she became the fourth Mustang in program history to compete in three NCAA Championships. Additionally, Miller won four American Conference Runner of the Week awards, taking home the honor after every single regular season race.

Ojstersek, competing in her first season with cross country, was one of the top two Mustang finishers in every race on the season. Ojstersek finished runner-up three times, including in the American Cross Country Championship. She was an All-Region and All-Conference performer.

Ojstersek finished with a time of 21:44.6, good for 34^th among the individual qualifiers. Miller ran a 21:50.1, 36^th among the individual qualifiers.

Colorado won the National Championship and had the individual champion in Dani Jones. The reigning champs, New Mexico, finished in second.
