HOUSTON (SMU) – Hannah Jacobs scored a match-high 14 kills, but the freshman could not lead SMU to a win as SMU lost the season finale 3-1 at Houston Wednesday (18-25, 25-14, 22-25, 17-25).
SMU won the second set with ease, taking a 25-14 victory, but the Cougars won the third and fourth sets for the victory on their home court. The Mustangs were outscored only 54-48 on the attack, but Houston recorded 13 blocks the SMU's three.
Montana Watts had 20 of SMU's 86 digs, but the offense hit just .114.

Brittany Adams scored nine kills with 19 digs in her final match, coming one kill shy of what would have been her 13th double-double of the season. With the loss, SMU finished the season 12-16 overall and 9-9 in the American Athletic Conference. Houston improved to 17-16, 4-18 in The American.
