TULSA, Okla. (SMU) – The SMU volleyball team won the last two sets for a five-set (18-25, 25-21, 20-25, 25-14, 15-12) victory at Tulsa to pull off the season sweep against the Golden Hurricane. Senior

After dominating in the fourth set, the Mustangs held off a Tulsa rally at the end of the fifth set to win on the road in the ninth five-set match of the season. Scoring seven of the first 10 points in the final set, SMU (10-14, 7-7 American Athletic Conference) led by two at the switch, 8-6. Tulsa came back to take a 10-9 lead. After a Tulsa service error,
Meryn Kennedy scored three kills on the next four serves, putting SMU in front 13-11.
Rachel Woulfe scored the kill on SMU's second match-point chance to give the Mustangs a 15-12 win.
Woulfe finished with 14 kills, one shy of her season high, and Kennedy scored 11 with two blocks.
Hannah Jacobs recorded 13 kills, including four in the final set.
Lily Heim, playing six rotations for the first time this season, tallied 50 assists with 15 digs. The Mustangs hit .233 with 64 kills, while holding Tulsa to a .185 attack percentage with 54 kills.
Tulsa (17-9, 9-5 The American) won the third set after breaking an 18-18 tie with a 3-0 run. The advantage was enough for the victory, despite both teams posting 15 kills in the set. The Golden Hurricane opened the match with a 25-18 win. Tulsa went on a 7-0 run midway through to take a 15-9 lead en route to the win.
The Mustangs started the second set on an 8-3 run. Tulsa cut the lead to two, but SMU stretched the advantage back to five, 18-13, with kills by three different players. Tulsa again cut the lead to two, but SMU pulled away again to win the set, 25-21.
