BATON ROUGE, La. (SMU) - Junior Brigitte Dunne used a 3-over final round to finish at 8-over and earn a sixth-place finish at the LSU Tiger Golf Classic.
The finish was Dunne's fourth top-10 finish of the season and the sixth in the top-15. Dunne was especially impressive on the front nine, using 2-under for the tournament on the first nine holes with six birdies.
As a team, the Mustangs finished in seventh place in the 12-team field.
"Our youth really showed this week," head coach Jeanne Sutherland said. "My hope is that we learned some tough lessons and come out ready to play next week. We will be on another tough course."
Sophomore Faith Summers provided the best round of the day, firing a 2-over round to move up into a tie for 31st. Joining Summers in a tie for 31st was fellow sophomore Ana Paula Ramirez. Ramirez' 3-over round on Sunday was her best round of the tournament.
