DALLAS (SMU) – SMU women's golf sits in third place led by second-place Mackenzie Lee at the Huntington Bank Collegiate from Trinity Forest Golf Course.
 
The Mustangs were slated for two rounds of action on Monday at their hometown tournament. The team shot six-under in round one to occupy a share of third place. They followed that up with a six-under again in round two. They moved into solo third at the end of the round. The Mustangs are five shots off the lead of UCLA. In the field. SMU sits ahead of seven nationally-ranked teams and behind two top 27 programs.
 
Lee led the Mustangs with a pair of 68s. She holds a share of second-place, one shot off the lead of Marta Silchenko of Oklahoma State. Lee birdied four of five holes from holes 10 to 14 during her second round. She bogeyed just one time in 36 holes. The North Little Rock, Arkansas native moved her career scoring average down to 71.59, already an SMU record.
 
Emily Odwin sits at three-under, good for a share of 12^th place. The senior had just one bogey in her first round as she carded a 70. Odwin followed that up with a 71 in round two. Odwin lowed her season-scoring average down to 71.93, fifth best by a Mustang.
 
Competing as an independent, Kirra St-Laurent holds a share of 14^th place. She carded rounds of 74 and 68. During a stretch of her second round, she birdied five of six holes to vault up the leaderboard. She birdied eight times during round two.
 
Grace Jin sits in 25^th place after two rounds. She carded her best round of the season during the morning session with a 70. Jin is even par for the tournament. Celine Chen shot 74 and 71 to hold a share of 33^rd while Yoonjeong Huh carded 75 and 72 to sit in a tie for 48^th.
 
The Mustangs return the course for the final round of the regular season on Tuesday.
