DALLAS, TEXAS (SMU) – Head SMU Women's Golf Coach
Lauren Mason and the reigning NCAA Regional Champion Mustangs announced the 2026-27 schedule on Thursday.
Last season, Mason and the Mustangs completed one of the best campaigns in program history. SMU won the Waco Regional, its second regional title in the last five years. The win gave the team a berth to the NCAA Championships where the Mustangs ended up 12th overall, the second-highest finish under Mason (finished 11th in 2023). Including 2026, SMU has reached the National Championships in three of the last five years. Ending the year at No. 18, the Mustangs finished with the highest end-of-season ranking in school history.
SMU's 2026-27 slate of tournaments includes four fall events before gearing up for an elite lineup of spring tournaments, which features a home NCAA Regional Championship at Trinity Forest Golf Club.
Mason and Co. kick off the season in the Pacific Northwest, heading to the Leadership and Sports Invitational in Seattle, Washington (Sept. 14-15). A month later, the Mustangs venture to Columbus, Georgia for the Haskins Intercollegiate (Oct. 12-13).
The fall slate continues on the West Coast with the Stanford Intercollegiate (Oct. 16-18), and wraps up with the Landfall Tradition in Wilmington, N.C. (Oct. 23-25).
Kicking off the spring festivities, SMU travels to Palos Verdes, California for the Therese Hession Regional Tradition (Jan. 31 – Feb. 2).
February also marks the first of back-to-back tournaments in the Houston Area with the Member Invitational (Feb. 8) and The Chevron Collegiate (Feb. 22-23).
The Mustangs begin the month of March with an invitation to the prestigious Darius Rucker Intercollegiate in Hilton Head, South Carolina (March 1-3).
SMU returns to the metroplex to close out the regular season when the squad heads to the Charles Schwab Women's Collegiate in Fort Worth (March 22-23). The Mustangs will also host the Huntington Bank Collegiate in Dallas (April 5-6).
Following a second-place finish in stroke play and a trip to the finals in match play at the 2026 ACC Championships, SMU travels to Greensboro, North Carolina for the 2027 edition of the conference championships (April 15-18).
Mason and the reigning NCAA Regional Champions will get to host the tournament in 2027 at Trinity Forest Golf Club (May 10-12). SMU has won two of the last four Regionals the team has played in.
For the fourth consecutive year, the NCAA Championships will be held at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California (May 21-26). The Mustangs finished 12th in the 2026 NCAA Championships.
