SPRINGTOWN, Texas (SMU) – The fifth-ranked SMU Mustangs fell at No. 6 TCU, 14-4, in the regular-season finale Friday at Turning Point Ranch.
SMU (8-5) opened the day with a 2-2 tie in Equitation Over Fences. Senior
Hayley Banas opened scoring for SMU with an 85-79 rout of Jayme Omand, before
Brett Burlington edged out Alex Beneson, 88-87.
The Mustangs won a point in both Equitation on the Flat and Reining.
Holly Lansidel tallied the reining point with a 70.5-68.5 victory over Anna Adams, before
Haley Zimmerman downed Jayme Omand 66-55 on the flat.
Up next, SMU will host the United Equestrian Conference Championship. The two-day event begins March 30. The Mustangs will be the No. 1-seed after a 5-0 record against conference opponents.
