Junior Brigitte Dunne and sophomore Faith Summers travel to Austin, Texas, on Monday to compete as two of 24 individuals in postseason play at the NCAA Austin Regional.
Both Dunne and Summers begin play on Monday by teeing off at 9:40 a.m. Play continues on Tuesday before concluding on Wednesday at the University of Texas Golf Club.
The top-three individuals not affiliated with the six advancing teams from the 18-team regional field will advance to the NCAA Championship, which takes place May 18-23 at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
The two Mustangs have experience this season at the University of Texas Golf Club, as Dunne and Summers finished 11th and 14th, respectively, at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational held at the course in October.
Both Dunne and Summers were honored by the American Athletic Conference as all-conference honorees after leading SMU during the 2017-18 season.
Dunne played in all 11 tournaments and leading the Mustangs with a 74.03 scoring average. The junior twice fired a round of 67 this season, the best mark of her career and the lowest round by a Mustang this year. Dunne logged three top-five finishes as well as seven top-15 finishes as she was consistently a top-performer for SMU all season. Dunne's best finish of the season was a runner-up performance at SMU's home tournament, the Trinity Forest Invitational.
Summers posted SMU's next-best season scoring average at 74.56. The sophomore notched five top-20 finishes in nine tournaments played, including finishing a season-best 12th twice.
Last season, Dunne finished in a tie for 27th at the NCAA Albuquerque Regional while Summers finished 57th.
