DENTON (SMU) -- SMU Cross Country travels to Denton for its second meet of the season, Saturday morning from the Ken Garland Invitational.

The Mustangs travel North coming off a dominant team victory at the Bear Twilight Invite in Waco. As a team, the Mustangs took first place ahead of hosts Baylor, along with TCU and a handful of other Texas schools.

SMU was helped by a 1-2 finish in the individual from junior Hannah Miller and senior Svenja Ojstersek. Miller trounced the previous SMU record for the 4K during the event by nearly 30 seconds.

The Denton race will be a 5K at UNT Discover Park. North Texas will play hosts to the event. The Mustangs did not participate in the event in 2017 but have multiple times in the past including 2015. Their last win at North Texas came in 2012. Other schools participating on Saturday include UTA and Incarnate Word.

After The Ken Garland Invite the Mustangs will have a two-week break, before heading to Kentucky for the Greater Louisville Classic.
