Complete Schedule
DALLAS (SMU) – SMU's 2018-19 men's basketball slate was finalized on Wednesday when the American Athletic Conference announced its schedule. SMU will play seven conference opponents twice: Cincinnati, Connecticut, Houston, Tulane, UCF, USF and Wichita State. The Mustangs also host East Carolina and Tulsa, while making road trips to Memphis and Temple.
The Mustangs open league play at home on Jan. 2 against East Carolina. The home slate concludes with matchups versus Connecticut on Feb. 21, Cincinnati on Feb. 27 and Wichita State on March 3.
The American Men's Basketball Championship is March 14-17 (Thursday-Sunday) at the FedExForum in Memphis, Tennessee. The Mustangs' AAC schedule includes 13 games on the ESPN family of networks and WatchESPN, and five matchups on CBS Sports Network.
SMU opens the season in Moody Coliseum on Nov. 8 and hosts rival TCU on Dec. 5. In other non-conference action, the Mustangs play in the Cancun Challenge held at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya Nov. 20-21. The Mustangs face Bradley in the semifinal on Tuesday followed by Penn State or Wright State on Wednesday. The Mustangs open the Cancun Challenge with a pair of home games at Moody Coliseum versus Southern Miss on Nov. 11 and Western Carolina on Nov. 14.
The Mustangs are entering the third season under Head Coach
Tim Jankovich. Under Jankovich, the Mustangs are 56-21 with a 38-5 mark at Moody Coliseum. The Mustangs won the 2017 American Athletic Conference regular season and tournament titles, reaching the NCAA Tournament. In the past two seasons, the Mustangs have five wins over teams ranked in the top 15 of the Associated Press Poll.
