FINAL BOX (Sweet Briar) | FINAL BOX (Lynchburg scrimmage)

    At The Harriet Howell Rogers Riding Center on Friday morning, SMU equestrian produced a 6-3 (726.0-712.5) victory over Sweet Briar College, with Haley Zimmerman earning MOP honors in Equitation on the Flat.

    The Hunt Seat-only meet in Sweet Briar, Virginia, was also the site of the SMU vs. Lynchburg scrimmage, where the Mustangs achieved a 6-2 (546.0-493.0) win against the University of Lynchburg Hornets.

    In the scrimmage, Olivia Woodson took home the Most Outstanding Player title in Equitation on the Flat, while Elle Young earned MOP recognition in Equitation Over Fences.

    Versus the Vixens, SMU swept the points in Equitation on the Flat, 4-0.

    Nora Gray, with a score of 70.0, riding Baco, tied with Sweet Briar competitor Katie Balding. Vivian Yowan, with a score of 71.0 on Mo'Bay, Zimmerman for a score of 72.0 riding Navarre, Kirsten Ostling scoring 68.0 on Bella, and Lexi Murphy earning a 69.0 on Emmett, all tallied points for the Mustangs on the flat.

    In Equitation Over Fences, Gray on Aate, with a score of 77.0, and Yowan, scoring 80.0 on Calvin, added to SMU's points over fences.

    Against Lynchburg, the Mustangs' fate was nearly the same, as SMU swept the flat and scored two points over fences.

    Zimmerman scored a 63.0, while Woodson with a 74.0, earned their points for the Mustangs in Equitation on the Flat. Likewise, Mary Elizabeth Cordia with a 73.0, and Tali DeJong with a 64.0, contributed to SMU's winning score.

    Elle Young, scoring 79.0, and Woodson scoring 67.0, notched points for SMU in Equitation Over Fences.

UP NEXT
The Mustangs will be in action on Saturday, Sept. 22 at 10:30 a.m. when both English and Western riders compete against the University of South Carolina at One Wood Farm in Blythewood, South Carolina.
