DALLAS (SMU) – The Mustangs dropped a tight, 1-0, game to the No. 19 ranked Denver Pioneers at Westcott Field Monday night.
In a marquee matchup of two touted programs, the squads lay dormant in the first half with Denver attempting five shots and SMU taking four.

SMU created more chances looking for the equalizer but was unable to come up with the needed tally.
In a physical game that featured 27 fouls, four cards were issued, three of them to Pioneers.
SMU returns to action Saturday, Sept. 8 at 7 p.m. to take on the Billikens of Saint Louis in the Gateway City.
