DALLAS (SMU) – The SMU women's swimming and diving team fell to Arkansas and Rice in a double-dual meet at the Robson & Lindley Aquatics Center and Barr-McMillion Natatorium on Saturday. The Mustangs fell to Arkansas, 171-124, and to Rice, 150-144.
Gabi Grobler (200 IM), Olivia Grossklaus (200 fly), Felicity Passon (100 back) and Erin Trahan (100 fly) were event winners for SMU, while Taylor Ohlhauser posted a career-best 276.08 on 3 meter for a runner-up finish.
Trahan was also a runner-up in the 50-yard freestyle, while SMU got an additional second place performance from Katie Crown on 1 meter in only her second event of the 2018-19 season.
The Mustangs finished second in both relays, opening the event with Passon, Andrea Podmanikova, Trahan and Grobler in the 200-yard medley relay (1:44.08) and closing the afternoon with Grossklaus, Passon, Sam Smith and Madison Kinsey in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:30.54).
SMU is back in action Friday, Feb. 8, at 5 p.m. when American Athletic Conference opponent Tulane comes to Dallas. The event will serve as Senior Day for six Mustangs.
