SMU Cross Country travels to College Station for the final meet of the regular season, the Arturo Barrios Invitational, scheduled for Saturday at 9:45 a.m. from the Watts Cross Country Course.

"We are heading back into competition after four significant weeks of training," said head coach
'A Havahla Haynes. "The women have made incredible progress as individuals and a team. We are looking for the work to translate to improved individual races and carry that momentum though to AACs and South Central Regional come November."

The Mustangs will use a five-athlete lineup for the meet including three freshman,
Maddie Hulcy,
Eve Hoeltgen and
Lior Kremer. The lineup also consists of sophomore
Olivia Lackner and junior
Tess Misgen. Misgen led the Mustangs at the season's a first meet while Hulcy recorded a second-place finish at the Ken Garland Invite, as the Mustangs took the team title in Denton.Â
The Arturo Barrios field features 28 teams with most of the top teams in the South Central region making the trip to College Station. 12 of the top 15 region teams are set to race on Saturday. The Mustangs are currently ranked 15
th in the region. Among the field, Cal Baptist and Texas are receiving votes in the national coaches' poll.Â

Last season the Mustangs finished in seventh in the 25-team field at the Arturo Barrios Invite.
Hannah Miller led the way with a third place finished with
Svenja Ojstersek finishing in the seventh and
Anneke Grogan in 23rd.

After College Station, the Mustangs will head to Memphis for the American Athletic Conference Cross Country Championship.
