SMU Women's Tennis Signs Three For 2020

DALLAS (SMU) – SMU women's tennis signed three athletes that hail from the United States, head coach Jeff Nevolo announced on Friday. Kiana Graham of Austin, Texas, Avery Hilbig of The Woodlands, Texas and Winslow Huth of Hilton Head Island, S.C. will be joining the Mustangs in 2020.

"Our staff is so excited to welcome Kiana, Avery, and Winslow to the Hilltop," Nevolo said. "All three of them have a lot of potential and will be great college tennis players and student-athletes. I'm personally grateful to our team and assistant coaches for the efforts they made during the recruiting process to communicate the vision and values we all share for SMU tennis. Adding three players from the United States, two from the great state of Texas, is a great accomplishment for our program!"

Graham is currently ranked as a 5-star recruit, according to tennisrecruiting.net. Additionally, she is ranked No. 33 in the nation and No. 4 in the state of Texas. From Austin, Texas, the Westwood High School senior has been a standout on the court. Graham went undefeated in singles her freshman year and won district, regional and state titles to be named the Player of the Year. Her sophomore year, she won districts and placed third at regionals in mixed doubles. Graham helped Westwood to a team state championship as a junior, scoring the winning point in the No. 1 women's singles match. So far this year, Graham has helped lead Westwood to a district title, winning her doubles and singles matches at the competition. Welcome to the Hilltop, Kiana!

Avery Hilbig

Also hailing from Texas, Hilbig is currently ranked No. 78 in the nation and No. 5 in the state. She joins Graham as a 5-star recruit, per tennisrecruiting.net. After playing in doubles for the Highlanders as a freshman, Hilbig played in the state championship in singles her sophomore year after finishing second at regionals. She finished her junior year at The Woodlands High School with a runner-up title in doubles at the state championship. The duo won district and region championships earlier in the year. Winslow Huth

Huth comes to the Hilltop from Hilton Head Island, S.C. She is a 4-star recruit, according to tennisrecruiting.net and is currently ranked No. 75 in the nation. Having recently moved, Huth played most of her career in Tennessee, where she won state singles, was runner-up twice and won the state doubles title five times. She has also previously earned a Super National Silver Ball in girls 16U Doubles National Indoors. Hilbig boasts a No. 1 ranking in the state of Tennessee, is ranked top 10 in the nation in G16 doubles and has the highest ranking of 64 in the class of 2020. Welcome to the Mustang family, Winslow!
