SMU Athletics Recognizes Donors In Annual Thank-a-Thon

DALLAS (SMU) - The SMU Athletic Department, with the help of over 230 student-athletes, held its annual Student-Athlete Thank-a-Thon from November 11 to November 15.
Student-athletes volunteered their time to make personal thank you calls to athletic donors (Mustang Club members), who generously gave to SMU Athletics during the 2018-19 giving cycle. In all, SMU student-athletes contacted more than 1,700 Mustang Club donors to personally thank them for their support.
Ethan Chargois and William Douglas (Men's Basketball): "We want to thank you so much for your contributions to the SMU Basketball family. It's really a blessing knowing that we have the great support of our alumni helping us both academically and athletically. Your contributions have changed our lives in many ways and we can't thank you guys enough."
Montana Watts (Volleyball): "I want to thank you guys for all of your donations. Every gift is counted and has really helped SMU programs, especially volleyball. Thank you for all you do and Pony Up!"
Sarai Monarrez Yesaki (Women's Tennis): "I want to thank all of our donors for your support. Your generosity allows us to excel on and off the court. Thank you!"
Director of the Mustang Club, Matt Peters: "During this season of giving thanks, our student-athletes enjoy the opportunity each year to personally reach out to our generous donors and thank them for their support. On behalf of all of our student-athletes and our entire athletics department, we thank you for your help in Shaping Champions."
Contributions to SMU Athletics through the Mustang Club are used to fund scholarships, facility projects and annual operational costs such as equipment, personnel and academic support for 484 student-athletes.
