DALLAS (SMU) – The Mustangs are in a solid second place after night two of the SMU Invitational at the Robson & Lindley Aquatics Center and Barr-McMillion Natatorium.
Katie Crown posted a runner-up performance, while
Felicia Anderson was top three on night two of the three-day event to lead the team.
Crown was second on 3 meter with a six-round 294.75 to stay above the NCAA Zone qualifying standard for the season.
Taylor Ohlhauser was fourth in the event, also coming in over the NCAA's 280, at 284.50.
Anderson led the Mustangs in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 53.83, a season-best time she posted in both prelims and finals, to finish third.
Gabi Grobler (54.98) also scored in the Championship Final, finishing fourth, while
Sam Smith (56.07) was eighth.
Three other Mustangs made appearances in A Finals to score team points for SMU on night two.
Frederica Kizek was the top performing Mustang in the 400-yard individual medley, clocking in at 4:23.43 for fifth in the A Final,
Janelle Gursoy finished eighth in the 200-yard freestyle at 1:51.31 and
Erin Trahan was seventh in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:03.82.
SMU's relays continued to outperform themselves on the season with both posting runner-up performances on the night. The familiar medley quartet of Anderson, Grobler, Trahan and Smith covered the 200 distance in 1:39.81, while the 800 free relay comprised of Grobler, Trahan, Anderson and Grossklaus finished in 7:23.86.
